Ukraine launched large-scale strikes on Russia with thousands of drones

Ukraine carried out a large-scale attack against Russia using more than 1,000 drones

The Ukrainian military has conducted one of the largest air operations on Russian territory in recent years. According to official reports, nighttime attacks organized via thousands of strike UAVs targeted a number of Russia's critical strategic facilities.

Oil refineries and energy infrastructure were among the main targets of the attacks. Severe fires recorded at oil facilities in Saint Petersburg and other regions were captured on satellite imagery. Assessments regarding the scale of the fires and the extent of the damage are currently underway.

This large-scale operation has reignited tensions in diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the United States. According to reports, the U.S. leadership and President-elect Donald Trump criticized Kyiv's move, stating they are concerned about a further escalation of the conflict.

According to experts, such massive drone attacks by Ukraine aim to disrupt Russia's logistics and fuel supply chain. At the same time, this step is assessed as an attempt by Kyiv to demonstrate its military potential in the course of the war and show its resolute stance to its allies.

Although the Russian side claimed that air defense systems were activated to fend off the attacks, it is confirmed that numerous targets were hit. Military tensions between the two countries have reached their peak, and the international community is closely monitoring the situation.
