US Supreme Court announces decision on September 11 terror attacks
The US Supreme Court has issued an important ruling on the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, considered the mastermind of the September 11 terrorist attacks, and two of his accomplices. The court instance upheld the Pentagon's decision to revoke previous agreements that allowed the defendants to avoid the death penalty.

Appeals filed by lawyers to reinstate the agreements were rejected by the Supreme Court. This step paves the way for the terrorists' trial to move to a stricter plane and for the possibility of a death sentence against them to become relevant again.
It should be noted that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is considered the chief architect of the terror attacks that ended the lives of thousands of people in the US on September 11, 2001. This long-running legal process continues to keep the issue of criminals receiving their deserved punishment on the agenda.
The Pentagon's cancellation of the agreement in question was welcomed by the public and the families of the victims of terrorism. With the Supreme Court's latest decision, this legal dispute has been finalized and conditions have been created for the judicial investigations to continue under the initial terms.
