Serious scandal in Turkey's financial markets: Criminal proceedings initiated against 22 people

Turkey's Capital Markets Board (SPK) has launched a large-scale investigation into suspected manipulation in the country's financial markets. According to the agency's official statement, an application has been submitted to the prosecutor's office to initiate criminal proceedings against 22 people whose names were involved in illegal transactions related to "Vişne" shares.

The fact that the list also includes a former chief adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sparked widespread public debate. The SPK's decision is considered an important step in establishing transparency in the financial markets and protecting the rights of investors.

In addition, the regulatory body has adopted new decisions regarding the activities of "Hedef Portföy" funds. The funds in question have been subjected to a liquidation process. Although this step has caused some concern among investors, experts interpret it as a corrective measure in the market.

The SPK's inspections carried out on Borsa Istanbul did not end there. The agency imposed strict sanctions on two different types of shares. In total, criminal cases have been opened against 37 people, and some individuals have been banned from participating in stock exchange transactions for a period of 2 years.

These events taking place in Turkey's financial sector have brought to the forefront the necessity of further strengthening control mechanisms in the country's economy. Official bodies are expected to provide additional information in the near future regarding the progress of the investigation and the fate of the suspects.
