Fines for multimedia devices in cars have been cancelled: Good news for drivers!
Good news for drivers Fines - Good news for drivers in cars - Turkey's Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that fines imposed for multimedia and display devices subsequently added to cars have been cancelled. This decision has delighted thousands of car owners and clarified controversial points in the existing legislation.

According to the Ministry's statement, fines imposed in connection with multimedia screens and sound systems in cars will be cancelled. This measure primarily covers fines applied for devices alleged to distract drivers and create a safety risk. However, the Ministry emphasized the need for a more precise regulation on this matter.
It should be recalled that in previous periods, large screens or loud sound systems subsequently installed in cars were sometimes considered an "illegal modification," leading to the imposition of fines. With the new decision, these fines will be considered null and void, and work will be carried out on mechanisms for the refund of already paid fines.
The Ministry's statement noted that a new and more comprehensive regulation regarding the use of such devices in cars will be prepared by 2026. This regulation will cover the installation, use, and safety standards of the devices, thereby preventing similar misunderstandings from arising in the future.
Thanks to this decision, the financial burden on car owners is eased, and gaps in legislation are eliminated. However, the importance of drivers always paying attention to road safety and refraining from using distracting devices is particularly emphasized. Until new rules are adopted, it is recommended to avoid abuses of the current situation.
