Floods in India's Assam state: Death toll reaches 100
In Assam state, located in northeastern India, heavy monsoon rains that have not stopped for several weeks have caused severe floods. According to information released by official bodies, the number of people who died as a result of the natural disaster has reached 100.

Due to rivers overflowing their banks in the region, thousands of homes have been submerged, and hundreds of villages have been cut off from the outside world. Local authorities and rescue teams are carrying out large-scale operations for the evacuation of residents remaining in dangerous areas.
Floodwaters, in addition to residential areas, have also caused serious damage to infrastructure, roads, and agricultural areas. Tens of thousands of people have been placed in temporary shelters, and essential humanitarian aid is being delivered to them.
Meteorologists have warned that rainy weather conditions will continue in the region for some time. This strengthens the possibility that the situation will worsen further and water levels will rise.
The Indian leadership is keeping a close eye on the situation in the region and declares that all resources are being mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Rescuers continue to assess the extent of the damage and provide assistance to the victims.
