Sri Lanka Offers Free Visas to Sailors of Iranian Ships Sunk or Seized by the US

Sri Lanka will not apply - Sri Lanka US-seized - The Sri Lankan government has made a significant decision to provide humanitarian support to the sailors of Iranian ships affected by two separate incidents in international waters. Country officials have announced that these sailors will be granted free visas for a period of one month.

This decision covers sailors rescued from an Iranian ship sunk by US forces. During that incident, crew members who were in a critical condition at sea were brought to Sri Lanka after being rescued. Now, they will be able to obtain visas to stay in this country without paying any fees.

Furthermore, crew members evacuated from a second Iranian ship seized in the region will also benefit from this opportunity. The crew of that ship was also brought to Sri Lanka in the same manner, and they too have been provided with free accommodation for a period of one month.

This decision by Sri Lanka once again highlights the importance of humanitarian support in emergency situations arising in international maritime affairs. This step is regarded as a gesture aimed at assisting seafarers in their difficult moments.

The offer of free visas will enable sailors to find temporary refuge in Sri Lanka and facilitate the necessary procedures. During this period, they will gain time to return to their home countries or find other solutions.
