Russian Ministry of Digital Development Denies "White List" Claims for Home Internet

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Mincifry) has strongly denied reports regarding the implementation of "white lists" for home internet providers. The Ministry stated that these claims are unfounded and that no such initiative exists in the country.

Recently, rumors circulated in the Russian media about the implementation of "white lists" for home internet users, which would restrict access to certain websites and only allow "approved" resources. These reports caused widespread public concern.

According to Mincifry's statement, there is no need to restrict home internet in the country. The Ministry once again emphasized that the information circulating about the implementation of "white lists" does not reflect the truth. Claims circulating around this topic have also been denied by representatives of "Rostelekom" and the State Duma.

Deputies of the State Duma, as well as other authorized persons in the communications sector, stated that the implementation of such restrictions is not on the agenda and that the circulating news is fake. They urged citizens to only believe information from official sources.

It should be noted that the concept of "white lists" is generally used to provide access only to specified and secure sources. However, this approach is mainly applied in corporate networks or special organizations; its widespread application for home internet is rare and causes serious controversy.

The Russian government, as a whole, declares that it maintains its position on internet freedom and supports citizens' right to access information. This statement aims to put an end to the speculations arising around internet restrictions.
