Humanitarian disaster in cities under Russian occupation: Residents flee at the cost of their lives
The situation in Ukraine's southeastern regions occupied by Russian forces has reached an unbearable limit. Civilians, who have been facing food and medicine shortages for months, are forced to take deadly roads, risking their lives to leave the places where they live.

The complete cut-off of humanitarian aid to the regions since May has left the population facing the threat of starvation. People remaining in the occupied settlements are trying to reach safe places by passing through areas mined by the Russian military.
Assessing the current situation as a "death trap," Ukraine's foreign minister emphasized that the scale of the humanitarian crisis in the occupied cities is horrifying. He called on the international community to take urgent measures to ensure the safety of civilians.
The same tragic picture is observed in cities such as Oleshky and Mariupol. The destruction of infrastructure and the blockade regime in the occupation zone further aggravate the daily life of the local population.
International observers and human rights defenders note the importance of creating humanitarian corridors for the exit of the civilian population. However, ongoing intense military operations and the mining of territories minimize people's chances of rescue.
