Romania neutralizes two drones in the Black Sea sky

Romania destroys two unmanned aerial vehicles over the Black Sea

Two fighter jets belonging to the Romanian Air Force neutralized two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that entered the country's territorial waters over the Black Sea. This incident coincided with a period when security measures in the region have been particularly heightened.

According to official reports, appropriate measures were taken immediately after it was determined through radar detection that the unidentified objects posed a threat to Romania's airspace. Military aviation took to the air in a short time, identified the targets, and destroyed them.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing. There is no precise information yet as to which state the drones belonged to or for what purpose they were sent. The Romanian side announced that technical examinations are being carried out to clarify the details of the incident.

It should be noted that military tension remains high in the Black Sea region due to the war in Ukraine. NATO member Romania regularly strengthens its patrols to protect the security of its airspace.

This incident has once again demonstrated the importance of the steps taken to defend the airspace of countries located on NATO's eastern flank. Romanian officials stated that they have informed their allies about the incident and are keeping the situation under full control.
