Romania destroys two UAVs violating its airspace: Tension in the Black Sea

The Romanian Air Force has shot down and neutralized two unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that violated the country's air borders. Following this incident over the Black Sea, security measures in the region have been raised to the highest level.

As soon as the signal regarding the airspace violation was received, F-16 fighter jets belonging to the Romanian Air Force were immediately scrambled. As a result of the operation carried out, the UAVs, which were the source of the threat, were destroyed.

This incident recorded in the Black Sea basin has further increased military tension in the region. NATO member Romania has stated that it is taking decisive steps to ensure the inviolability of its state borders.

Meanwhile, concerns regarding maritime transport in the region persist. According to reports, during other incidents at sea, a tanker was targeted and search-and-rescue operations for missing sailors are ongoing.
