Taiwan Strengthens Its Space Defense Against Beijing's Threats
Taiwan in response to Beijing's threats - Amid increasing threats from Beijing, Taiwan is implementing a large-scale program aimed at significantly strengthening its space defense capabilities. This strategic initiative is aimed at ensuring the island's security and increasing its resilience against potential military threats.

The Taiwanese government places special emphasis on the development of surveillance and defense systems to be deployed in the Taiwan Strait. Within the framework of this program, cooperation is established with many international space technology startups, while also supporting the advancement of local companies in this field.
This large-scale initiative is supported by the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The program's management is carried out by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), which strengthens the project's scientific and technological foundation.
The primary goal of the project is to ensure Taiwan possesses independent space capabilities. This step will enhance the island's self-defense capabilities against China's military forces and make a significant contribution to regional stability.
The involvement of local companies in this process not only boosts the further development of Taiwan's high-tech industry but also serves to strengthen local human resources potential in the field of space defense. As a result, a more resilient and self-sufficient space industry ecosystem will be formed in the future.
