Thousands of Young People Prepare for Priesthood in Spain: Seminary Day is Celebrated

Seminary Day celebrated in Spain - Seminary Day is celebrated in Spain - Thousands of young people in Spain are preparing for the priesthood with the aim of dedicating their lives to the church. Hundreds of seminarians are studying in various dioceses across the country, and this week the Catholic Church celebrates Seminary Day, commemorating and showing support for the young people embarking on this sacred path.

According to a statement from the Spanish Episcopal Conference, over a thousand young people are studying to become priests across the country. This figure is considered promising for the future of the church and indicates that the spiritual calling among young people remains strong.

In regions such as the Archdiocese of Toledo, seminarians actively participate in special vocational campaigns. They visit over 50 churches, hold meetings with local communities, share their experiences, and invite young people to a spiritual life.

In the city of Malaga, Seminary Day was also celebrated with special events. Currently, 13 young seminarians are studying there, while approximately thirty individuals are attending preparatory courses for seminary admission. This situation clearly demonstrates a growing interest among young people in the church.

Information from other regions such as Navarra and Jerez also reveals a similar picture. Young people state that they are moving away from a fast-paced and materialistic lifestyle, turning towards spiritual values, and finding true happiness on this path.

Through such initiatives, the Church particularly emphasizes the importance of the priestly vocation and encourages young people to respond to spiritual callings. Seminary Day also calls upon communities to provide both prayer and financial support to seminarians.
