Iran's call to the US regarding the Strait of Hormuz: A 7-day solution plan is on the table

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that they have launched a new diplomatic initiative to normalize maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which is of critical importance for global energy security. It is reported that Tehran has submitted a comprehensive 7-day roadmap to the US via Qatar.

Araghchi noted that the plan they presented aims to reduce tensions in the region and make maritime security sustainable. Stating that "the ball is now in the US court, the decision is theirs," the Iranian minister emphasized that the steps Washington will take will be decisive for regional peace.

Giving harsh messages in his statements as well, Araghchi stated that it is not possible to ensure maritime security through sanctions, blockades, and military threats. Tehran maintains that security in the region is only possible through regional cooperation and diplomatic dialogue.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the most vital transit points for global oil trade. Since tensions in this region directly cause price fluctuations in global energy markets, it is closely monitored by the international community.

The US administration has not yet given an official response regarding the aforementioned 7-day plan. Observers assess that this diplomatic maneuver between the parties could be an opportunity to reduce military tensions in the region.
