Investors are stepping away from data centers: The sector on the brink of crisis

In global financial markets, investor interest in artificial intelligence infrastructure, particularly data centers, is declining noticeably. Rising interest rates and difficult access to financial resources are forcing investors to massively withdraw from this field.

Financial performance and debt obligations of companies operating in the data center sector continue to worsen. Facing a capital shortage, many enterprises have already been forced to suspend their planned initial public offering (IPO) processes.

According to experts, the heavy energy and infrastructure costs necessary for the development of artificial intelligence, coupled with a high-interest-rate environment, make it difficult for companies to repay their debts. This trend poses a serious threat, especially for technology companies with high debt burdens.

Amid the current uncertainty, market participants are favoring safer assets, particularly fixed-income securities, to minimize risks. This cautious stance by investors amplifies concerns that the long-observed growth momentum in the technology sector may slow down.

Analytical centers forecast that companies with limited financing opportunities will face severe restructuring or merger processes in the near future.
