Internet romance ended in tragedy: She traveled 6 thousand kilometers, her body was found

32-year-old music teacher Sonia Exelby, living in London, the capital of England, took the biggest risk of her life and flew to the USA to meet 54-year-old Dwain Hall, whom she met through a social network. After traveling a distance of approximately 6 thousand kilometers to Florida, the young woman could no longer be reached after a while.

After days of searching, Exelby's body was found buried in a shallow grave in a wooded area in Florida. Initial investigations revealed that the young woman had four stab wounds on her body and that she was brutally murdered.

Deepening their investigation into the incident, local law enforcement tracked down the suspect Dwain Hall and detained him. While the details of the murder caused great public outrage, Exelby's relatives noted that the young woman had expressed some concerns about the situation to her friends before setting off.

Sonia Exelby's death has once again brought the security risks posed by friendships and romances established over the internet to the agenda. Authorities recommended being cautious when having physical meetings with individuals met on digital platforms.

While the legal process initiated by US officials continues, Dwain Hall is expected to appear before a judge on murder charges. The tragic death of Exelby, known as a music teacher, has received extensive coverage in both the British and US press.
