Fourth Day in the IMM Case: Tension Between İmamoğlu and the Prosecutor, Press Crisis Postponed the Court
Fourth Day on the IMM - Fourth day of the IMM case - The fourth court hearing in the case related to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) was extremely tense and consequently had to be postponed due to a crisis involving the press. The dispute between the prosecutor and Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in the courtroom was the main focus.

During the session, İmamoğlu sharply protested to the prosecutor, calling it a "slanderous point." Following these words, the prosecutor demanded İmamoğlu's removal from the courtroom. This demand further escalated the tension in the hall and led to a verbal dispute between the parties.
The main factor causing the postponement of the court hearing was the "press crisis." The presiding judge demanded that journalists change their seating. When journalists refused to accept this demand and leave the hall, the presiding judge decided to postpone the session. This incident sparked widespread discussions on the topic of press freedom.
One of the main witnesses in the case, Ümit Polat, Procurement Manager of Ağac A.Ş., testified for the defense. Polat, who has a confessor status, made serious allegations regarding the case and revealed details of the events.
In his testimony, Ümit Polat claimed that he received certain promises in exchange for Gökhan Zeybek's silence. His statements are considered one of the significant points that could affect the course of the case.
Meanwhile, the Republican People's Party (CHP) demanded that the IMM case be brought to a general discussion in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and broadcast live on TRT. The party aims to ensure the transparency of the case through this method.
This issue, characterized as the corruption case of the century, continues to occupy Turkey's political agenda. With each new court hearing, new questions and tensions arise around the case.
