Houthis attack the presidential palace in Aden: Casualties reported

Tensions in Yemen have reached a peak once again. Iran-backed Houthi rebels carried out a bloody attack on the Al-Maashiq presidential palace in the city of Aden, where the country's internationally recognized government is located.

As a result of the attack, which took place on Thursday, at least five people lost their lives. The dead include two bodyguards of Prime Minister Shaya Al-Zindani.

This incident demonstrates that the military operations conducted by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government have entered a new and more dangerous phase. The fact that the attack directly targeted a high-level state facility has further aggravated the already fragile security environment in the region.

The international community and regional countries have strongly condemned this terrorist act. In turn, the Yemeni government stated that security measures will be significantly increased and a decisive response will be given to such provocations.

It is emphasized that the main goal of the forces behind the attack is to destabilize the political situation in Yemen and weaken state structures. The situation in Aden currently remains tense.
