Tense situation in France: Partial curfew being introduced, possibility of a state of emergency
The French government has shifted to strict security measures due to the mass riots raging across the country. Following the acts of violence on October 17, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu officially instructed prefects to impose partial curfews in certain areas.

A government official stated that all legal means will be used to ensure public order. These powers granted to local executive authorities include placing certain restrictions on the movement of citizens in order to protect security.
If the situation escalates further, official Paris does not rule out declaring a nationwide state of emergency. Sébastien Lecornu emphasized that state security is a priority and the strictest decisions will be made if necessary.
The clashes that have occurred in French cities in recent days have caused serious concern in society. Although law enforcement agencies have stepped up control to ease the tension, the scale of the events is forcing the government to take more decisive steps.
