Drone Attack on Peshmerga-French Military Base in Erbil: Six French Soldiers Injured
Peshmerga-French military base in Erbil by drone - A military base jointly used by Peshmerga and French forces in Erbil, located in northern Iraq, was struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). As a result of this attack, six French soldiers were reported injured.

The attack, which occurred in the morning hours, caused significant damage to the base. According to initial reports, the condition of the injured soldiers is stable and they received timely medical assistance.
Erbil Governor Hoshnav confirmed the attack, stating that the UAV specifically targeted the base. He added that all details of the incident are being investigated and a large-scale investigation has been launched to find those responsible for the attack.
This attack is considered a new sign indicating a further increase in existing tensions in the region. Similar attacks regularly occur against foreign military bases in Iraq, which once again proves how fragile the security situation in the country is.
The French side has not yet issued any official statement regarding this incident. However, such attacks cause serious concern for France's mission in Iraq and call into question the security of international forces operating in the region.
