Donald Trump: Zelensky has never been interested in ending the conflict
US President-elect Donald Trump has made harsh remarks directed at Ukrainian Head of State Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to Trump's claim, the Ukrainian leadership has not strived to end the war and has not used the opportunities that arose to establish peace.
As Trump noted, the Kyiv authorities had the chance to reach an agreement with Russia on more favorable terms even two years ago. However, letting this opportunity slip away has led to the continuation of the current severe situation.
The future US President emphasized that he is trying to balance the positions of the parties in the negotiation process. Trump stated that he is taking strategic steps to keep dialogue channels with Russia open and to bring the parties back to the negotiating table.
The Ukrainian side has not yet officially responded to these accusations. However, international experts interpret Trump's statements as a signal that there will be serious changes in the future US foreign policy regarding the Ukraine crisis.
