A giant mushroom species discovered in China: Weighs over 2 kilograms

Scientists conducting research in the forests of Yunnan province in southwestern China have found a new mushroom species that has astonished the scientific world. Distinguished by its unusual size, this organism is considered a significant discovery in the field of botany.

According to researchers, a single specimen of the found mushroom can weigh up to 2.2 kilograms. This figure confirms that the species in question is noticeably larger than other mushrooms found in nature.

Not only the physical size of the mushroom but also its millions of years of evolutionary history have attracted the attention of experts. Scientists are continuing laboratory analyses to determine the role of this species in the ecosystem and its genetic characteristics.

Revealed thanks to the rich biodiversity of the Yunnan region, this species demonstrates that the region's nature still holds many undiscovered secrets. Experts believe that this finding will create new opportunities for understanding the evolutionary process of mushroom species.
