A new Arctic axis is forming between China and Russia
Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev's visit to China confirms that the strategic partnership between Moscow and Beijing has risen to a new stage. The parties are no longer limited to statements alone; they have begun implementing real infrastructure and logistics projects in the Arctic region.

The discussions held from October 8 to 13 centered on the integration of China's "Polar Silk Road" initiative with Russia's Northern Sea Route. This step demonstrates the intention of both countries to strengthen their economic resilience against the backdrop of Western-imposed sanctions and geopolitical pressures.
According to experts, Moscow and Beijing's cooperation in the Arctic encompasses technological exchange and the improvement of transport corridors. This initiative also aims both to diversify China's global trade routes and to support Russia's isolated economy.
The emergence of this new axis could radically change the balance of power in the region regarding access to energy resources and maritime transport. Both states consider the Arctic to be the center of their future economic strategies and are determined to continue joint activities in this area.
