Large-scale reforms in Azerbaijan's healthcare system: New minister appointment

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has made important decisions regarding structural reforms in the country's healthcare system. Pursuant to the relevant decree signed by the head of state, Anar Maharram oglu Bayramov has been appointed as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As part of the implemented reforms, the Tabibs (State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance's Union for the Management of Medical Territorial Units - TƏBİB), operating under the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, has been subordinated to the Ministry of Health. This decision aims to create a unified centralized system in the management of medical services.

The new appointment and structural changes are assessed as a strategic step taken towards improving management in the healthcare sector and increasing the quality of medical services provided to the population. With the inclusion of TƏBİB into the ministry, it is targeted to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles in the healthcare system and use resources more efficiently.

Under the leadership of Anar Bayramov, among the main priorities of the Ministry of Health are improving the material and technical supply of medical institutions and increasing human potential. At the same time, the acceleration of digitalization processes in the healthcare sector is envisaged within the framework of the reform program.
