Tension in Albania: Student protests end in police clashes
Serious clashes broke out during anti-government protests in Albania's capital, Tirana. In the demonstrations led by students, the police were forced to use rubber bullets and special means to disperse the crowd.
In recent days, the socio-political situation in the country has become significantly tense. Protesters are strongly voicing their objections to the policies pursued by Prime Minister Edi Rama, particularly the government's indifferent and arrogant stance toward the demands of the people.
International media outlets have dubbed the events the "Flamingo Revolution," emphasizing that the situation is taking on an increasingly radical character. Numerous injuries have been reported as a result of the clashes in the central streets of the capital.
Although government structures are trying to bring the situation under control, the protesters' resolve has not been shaken. The rally participants demanded serious reforms and the resignation of the government, declaring that they will continue their struggle.
